Abstract
Statistical analysis for outpatients in Ped. Dept. N.M.C. during 1 year from Aug. ¢¥81 to July ¢¥82 was made. The results obtained were as follow.
1) Total No. of patient during 1 year was 8,402, of which 5,003 were male (59.55%),3399 were female (40.45%) and male to female ratio was 1.47: 1. The No. of new patient was 3368 (40.09%) & the one of return patient was 5034 (59.91%).
2) There was no significant variation on monthly & seasonal distribution.
3) According to the incidence in all seasons, URI was the most frequent, but in the fall, acute viral gastroenteritis was increased more than in other seasons.
4) In age distribution, preschool aged group was the most frequent group consisting of 2477 cases (29.5%), infancy proper, school aged group & late infancy in the order of frequency.
5) In the classification of diseases, respiratory tract infection were the most frequent (57.88 %), infections & parasitic ones (18.22%) & symptom & ill-defined condition (8.31%) in the order of frequency.
6) According to the incidence of disease, URI was the most frequent 3,046 case (51%), Bronchitis, Acute gastroenteritis, Acute tonsillitis & Bronchiolitis in the order of incidence.
7) According to the frequency of diseases in each aged group, jaundice was the most frequent in the newborn (37.5%) & in other aged group, URI was most frequent.
